Kyle and I were married at the Wolfeboro Inn in Wolfeboro, NH on Lake Winnipesaukee. We took our first trip as a couple here, and always knew we wanted to bring all of our closest friends and family back to celebrate our wedding day. The weekend was more than we ever could have dreamed it would be. We spent Friday evening out on the Winniepesakee Spirit for our rehearsal dinner sunset cruise and Saturday night under the tent where we exchanged vows and danced until the fireflies came out. And at the end of the night, we all jumped in the lake!
If I could give advice to any bride or couple planning their wedding, I would encourage them to make the day their own. Don’t feel pressured to conform to any traditions that don’t feel authentically you. Our officiant was my best friend, we wrote our own vows, my mother and sister sang a song important to our family, my uncle read a passage from a book that we felt reflected our relationship, Kyle’s grandfather wrote and shared his own reading, his mother read a poem that we both love, and we asked our guests to participate in a ring warming ceremony. Every aspect of our wedding was thoughtfully planned to truly reflect us as a couple, and it was perfectly us.
