We got married on May 4th, 2024 at the Simsbury Inn, and we had the most AMAZING day! The sun was shining and it was ACTUALLY warm... which is not always the case for early May.
Our wedding was the perfect blend of our two cultures and families... Italian and Guatemalan. The whole aesthetic of the wedding was mediterranean inspired with our varying shades of blue and tile details! Our cocktail hour featured Bruschetta, one of Emily's favorites, and empanadas and tacos for Eddy! Our music was a mixture of classic wedding hits and both traditional and modern spanish bangers..... the dance floor was full the ENTIRE NIGHT. Emily and Eddy barely left it themselves.Our flowers were STUNNING! The yellow and the blue together were such a great combo and our florist knocked it out of the park. Also... the night would not have been complete without some subtle hints of star wars... cufflinks, groomsmen socks, a millenium falcon guest book.
THE DRESS: 100% the most perfect and beautiful article of clothing Emily will ever own. When originally starting the search, it was very overwhelming to try to figure out what type of dress Emily would want. We had only gone to one other bridal salon before going to the Persnickety Bride... and it was not a great experience to say the least. But the Persnickety Bride was completely different! Aeryn, Denise's daughter, helped us and she was amazing! She is so knowledgeable and really knows how to hype you up! She actually was the one who picked out the wedding. She recommended it to Emily when she first got to the store... and Emily knew it was the one pretty early on. But all of the dresses she tried on were gorgeous! This dress is so unique and so delicately put together. We have never seen anything like it before :) Eddy also was blown away the day of the wedding!!!
